How to Use Iron On Patches?

1.Choose a flat and heat-resistant surface, such as an ironing board. If you don't have one, you can also spread a double layer of bath towels on a sturdy table, and then place the clothes flat on it for ironing. For the best results with iron on patches, it is recommended to preheat the garment before ironing. For backpacks or other items that are difficult to iron, make sure the patch is placed as flat as possible and against a hard surface.

2.Place the iron on patch in the predetermined position. Make sure the adhesive side is snug against the fabric of the garment and that the patch has no wrinkles or bends. The paper backing will come off once ironed. If you are using a double-sided adhesive backing, apply it as a backing to the fabric of the garment. If the patch needs to blend into the fabric of the garment, it may need to be attached to the back of the garment.

3.Preheat the iron to the highest temperature that the fabric can withstand. Make sure the "Steam" function is turned off and there is no water in the iron.

4.Place a thin towel over the iron on patch to ensure that the patch and the fabric around it are not damaged. Also, make sure the iron on patch does not shift during the ironing process.

5.When the iron reaches the set temperature, press it smoothly on the iron on patch and hold it for about 15 seconds. Make sure you apply even force and enough downward pressure.

6. Remove the iron and allow the iron on patch to cool naturally. Then remove the towel and lightly press on the edges of the patch to check that it's secure. If you find that some parts are lifted, cover it with a towel again and iron it with an iron for another 10 seconds. If you are using a transfer paper patch, wait for it to cool completely (about 10 minutes) and then carefully peel off the backing.
